Three Thousand Attend area 'Weekend to Remember' Marriage Conferences

WAVA welcomed 2,400 people to the new Gaylord National Hotel in Oxon Hill, Maryland for a Family Life’s Valentine’s Day “Weekend to Remember” Marriage Conference. The conference featured “FamilyLife Today” host Dennis Rainey and his wife Barbara as speakers. Dennis introduced WAVA's Tom Moyer, who announced WAVA's 18th anniversary as a Christian format radio station. "FamilyLife Today" radio was launched in the Fall of 1992, the same year that WAVA started Christian broadcasting in the Washington/Baltimore area. WAVA and FamilyLife Ministries have co-sponsored The ‘Weekend to Remember’ Conferences in the DC/Baltimore area for nearly 18 years.  According to the surveys from the attendees, over 300 people became Christians during the conference. FamilyLife and WAVA
co-sponsored a second Washington, D.C. area conference the following weekend in Baltimore at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore. The event sold out with 600 attendees. WAVA FM and AM radio signals cover both the Washington and Baltimore areas." We love the partnership between Family Life and WAVA" said WAVA Station Manager Tom Moyer.  "It has resulted in visible spiritual fruit in so many lives.  And the ‘Weekend to Remember’ Marriage Conferences have helped many hundreds of families to start a new legacy for Christ."
